COVID UPDATE
As of October 7th, Brown County Wisconsin has dropped down to a low COVID-19 community level. Community health officials encourage everyone to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations and to get tested if you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 and are experiencing symptoms. Stay up to date on COVID-19 information by visiting the links at the bottom of this page.
In developing expectations for in-person attendance at UMISC 2022, the Conference Executive Committee is committed to making sure that UMISC 2022 complies with federal, state and local regulations related to large indoor gatherings. In addition, we may consider implementing policies beyond what is required to keep our attendees as safe as possible. Any such policy will be based on COVID metrics (which we know can fluctuate widely) and guidance from federal, state and local health officials.
We understand that with variants of COVID-19 still spreading readily in certain places, there will be people who regularly attend UMISC who will not feel comfortable attending a large indoor gathering in 2022. We hope these folks will explore our options for online attendance. We will also endeavor to offer as much flexibility as we possibly can in the lead-up to the conference.
We hope prospective attendees will recognize that planning a conference during the continued response to COVID presents challenges like never before in recent memory! The UMISC 2022 Executive Committee appreciates your patience an understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters.
