Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play a vital role in helping to make UMISC a great conference. Our move to an online platform in 2020 does not change that fact! Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity for students, nonprofit staff and others to attend the conference at a reduced or no cost.
Because we are online, volunteering this year will require a basic level of computer literacy and ability to use web-browser based apps and cloud storage services. We anticipate training our volunteers on the particulars. If you need a discount on registration but are not comfortable volunteering in the virtual conference environment, please check out our scholarship program. |
Our 2020 volunteer roles:
1. Pre-conference supporter - Volunteers filling this role will do most or all of their hours in the month leading up to the conference. Activities will include organizing files in Cloud storage, data entry and checklist completion, pre-launch review of online conference locations (e.g., exhibitor and poster halls).
2. Session steward - Volunteers filling this role will be volunteering during the week of Nov. 2-6. Session stewards will be asked to report any audio-visual issues and to monitor the in-app chat box for the session.
