What is the UMISC 2020 Championship?
The UMISC 2020 Championship is an in-conference game open to all registrants (with a few exceptions - see below). Players compete to win game points, and the top point-getters will win cash-equivalent prizes!
Prizes you say???
In honor of our honorary host city and the outdoor activities so many of us enjoy for work and pleasure, our prizes will be gift cards to Duluth Trading Co.* as follows:
  • First Place (most points): $300
  • Second Place: $200
  • Third Place: $100
  • Fourth - Tenth Places: $50 each
*Yes, we know Duluth Trading Co. is not headquartered in Duluth anymore, but it is still headquartered in the Upper Midwest! Read more about their history here.
Any ties will be decided at random (coin flip). Winners will be contacted by email to claim prizes no later than November 30, 2020.
How do I win points?
You win points by engaging in challenges/activities set up by UMISC. For each challenge completed, you will get a code. You have to log in to EventMobi and enter the code by the end of the conference (COB November 6) for it to tally your points. Many ways to win points will become available after the conference starts. However, players can build an early advantage by starting the conference with points already in hand! Here are a few early point getters!
  • Enter the photo contest by October 23 = 200 points
  • Register early (on or before October 16) = 200 points
  • Sign up and moderate a session = 500 points*
*You must meet the qualifications to moderate a session. Read more here. UMISC staff reserve the right to decline any moderator sign-ups.
Who can enter?
From UMISC's perspective, any registered attendee can participate with the exceptions of members of the UMISC Executive Committee and paid staff of the host partners. We understand that federal, state and other public-sector employees may be prohibited from playing or accepting prizes by internal rules.
